The Latest Robbery at a Private Poker Gathering

This devastating incident isn't the first time a private poker gathering has fallen victim to an armed robbery. In April 2024, PokerNews reported a similar incident in Suffolk, New York, where two masked robbers raided a poker gathering at a Long Island residence on Easter Sunday.

During this incident, the assailants stole cash, jewelry, cell phones, and fired shots as they left the premises, wounding a man.

Not only home games are targeted. On Christmas Eve 2024, three masked robbers allegedly held up Johny's Social Card Club in Northern Texas, making off with cash from the ATM.

Robberies even occur within the casino realm. In March, a poker dealer at JACK Casino, Ohio, pleaded guilty to charges related to stealing chips from cash game pots.

The dealer, Jason Saliba, admitted his guilt to nine gambling violations. Despite the conviction, he managed to avoid jail time but was handed a lifetime ban from the Ohio casino.
