Dr. Ulrike Bertlich, resident of Marl, honored with the Federal Merit Cross
Dr. Ulrike Bertlich, a renowned figure in Marl, Germany, has made significant contributions to the community through her tireless efforts and dedication. As the first chairwoman of the "Klara Hospice e. V." support association, she has been instrumental in its growth, managing to garner over a thousand members for the organisation.
The "Klara Hospice e. V." has played a crucial role in the financing of the hospice, taking on a large portion of the financial burden. This achievement, coupled with her comrades-in-arms, enabled them to secure almost 2.5 million euros for the construction of the hospice.
Dr. Bertlich's involvement in healthcare extends beyond the hospice. She has been active as an immunizer during the corona period, administering vaccines not only at the vaccination days of the St. Franziskus community but also in schools and at the vaccination center of the Recklinghausen district.
Her contributions to education are also notable. In 1997, she founded the Kindergarten Sausewind in Marl-Sickingmühle, and in 1998, she initiated the establishment of the Sickingmühle primary school's support association.
